Man its been a while since i have updated this blog. Ill try to be better at that. I guess alot of times life gets busy and I feel I have nothing interesting to say about guitar playing.
Since we have been snowed in here in Portland for the last few days I have had to sit down and record a new Youtube video. I know to folks in most of the parts of the world this doesn’t qualify as much snow. But once we get a few inches the city grinds to a halt and no one can drive, including me.
Anyways, here are the tunes. The first one is Bobby Casey’s, which I learned from the playing of Kevin Burke. The second is Granny in the Corner, a lovely little tune I learned from my friend celtic guitarist Steve Baughman. I think he said he got it from Martin Hayes. It lays nicely in the Orkney tuning. Notation for both these tunes can be found on the Sheet Music page.
Let me know if you have any questions.
